I remember the first time i was asked this question was just after i left Paystack and over the past two years, this question has been a recurring factor in almost every setting i find myself, and I have realized that there isn’t any resource that adequately address this question for the Nigerian market. So here we are.

Starting a Payments company in Nigeria isn’t as difficult as a lot of people think;

First, you must have a registered business in Nigeria. Incase you don’t know how to go about that, the good folks DIYlawNG can help with this.

Secondly, You need to have a partner bank. We currently have 23 commercial banks in Nigeria that you can work with to achieve this.

Thirdly, you need to reach out to the Central Bank Of Nigeria, to commence the PSSP application process as long as you meet the requirements. Click here to View Requirements

Once all this is sorted and you have also been able to put together your own tech team to build your payment product, then you are on your way.

I hope this has been able to answer a few questions you might have.
